I’ve been completing online surveys since 2010 and can vouch for the fact that they are the most rewarding. However, an increasing number of respondents are reported to be screened out of surveys.
The majority of other online survey sites in Australia offer different rewards or cash but the Octopus Group uses a system with a fixed charge per minute, so whether a survey takes 1 minute, 5 minutes, or 20 minutes, the per-minute value remains the same.
Octopus Group pays surveys at a set time per dollar ($0.28 per minute, or $16.80 per hour), precisely like your hourly wage.
However, if you are screened out, you will have invested a significant amount of time at the beginning of a survey before being screened out and not being compensated.
How much will I earn?

It also means that I can complete online surveys on the bus or during my lunch hour via their mobile app!
The registration process is simple and free. Simply submit your information, receive for an SMS token to validate your identity, and you’re ready to go.
In terms of how many surveys I typically receive, I received the most early on. I haven’t gotten many offers from this site yet, but the ones that have suited me have paid handsomely.
How does Octopus Group pay?
Unlike most other well-paid online surveys in Australia, Octopus Surveys does not pay in points. For surveys, you simply get paid in real money. Participating in their online surveys allows you to earn money, just like any other survey site. If you’re dismissed from surveys early on, you may be eligible for a little cash reward from them.

Is Octopus Group customer service bad?
No. I always get responses within 48 hours from their customer service team. They would answer your questions straightforwardly which may seem rude to some other people. Octopus Group has more than 150,000 survey members which mean busy customer service!
I’d always go through their Support Knowledge base / FAQ section to find my answer. If I don’t find it, I simply send an email to [email protected].
They have been active on internet review platforms such as Trustpilot to respond to customer questions.
How to redeem Octopus Survey points?
Log into your Octopus Group account and proceed to the redemption section to redeem your cash rewards by Australian bank transfer.
However, you can only withdraw cash if your account balance is greater than $20. When this happens, all you have to do now is enter the amount you want to send along with your bank account information. For security purposes, you will receive an SMS with a 6-digit number to enter on the site.
Depending on your Australian bank, the money should be in your account in 10 days.

Why do my Octoper surveys get cancelled?
99% of the time, the surveys for which you receive invitations are written by Octopus Group’s clients. They may find you already completed that survey somewhere else, or see you as not fit for the research based on your profile. This happens when technology (used by the survey tool) detects that you have completed the survey before, the survey is ended early (sometimes it gets it wrong). It can also happen if the survey tool finds that you are not the correct target group for the survey based on the responses you submit in the screening (or first) phase.
Does my Octopus account expire automatically?
The short answer is no, your account will not automatically expire as long as you are a paying member.
Why aren’t there any Octopus surveys in my inbox yet?
Only the introductory survey will be available when you join Octopus Group. When you are selected by the system, you will see survey invites on your dashboard and through emails. Surveys are only sent out when Octopus explicitly notifies the system that they need to choose survey participants.
How can I get more Octopus surveys?
The goal is to complete as many of our surveys as you can in the time you have available and to do so early. In Australia, there is a limited amount of surveys available, but new ones are always arriving. The state of play, i.e. the Christmas and New Year periods, can have an impact on survey volume. Covid-19 hasn’t been of any assistance either…

If you have any problems with the survey, please contact Octopus Customer Service and offer as much information as possible. Screenshots are quite beneficial (most of the time).
When the survey says it’s finished, don’t close the window/tab. When you’ve finished the survey, follow all of the instructions until you’re redirected back to the Octopus website. As a result, the incentive is immediately applied.
Final Thoughts
I can only speak so much about the advantages and benefits of being a member of Octopus Group in Australia. My primary reason for taking Octopus Surveys online is because of their cash-based method via bank transfer. Octopus group is also extremely transparent, simple to use, and safe.
As always, patience is required when waiting for surveys to complete because they are carefully chosen. Once you’ve been notified, take action right away to get the best cash incentives.
Despite the fact that I didn’t receive many paid surveys from Octopus Group, the ones I did receive were among the highest-paid online Octopus surveys I’ve ever received. Simply put, they provide some of the best value for money.
